Chapter: 130
Isaac is a third-generation merchant; for three generations, his family has been involved in the trade. However, more specifically, they have been merchants of the underworld. He inherited the family's antique store, which mainly deals in the trade of underworld items. Those who are involved in this business primarily possess great audacity; after all, if they don't operate for three years, once they do, they can profit for the next three. He always remains vigilant and sharp-eyed, always in search of rare treasures so he could sell them at a higher price. However, there's a rule in this line of business, known as the "three non-acceptances": they don’t accept items that harm human life, disrupt one's fortune, or drain a person's essence. After all, preserving one's life is of utmost importance.
One day, a beautiful lady named Fanny came in, wanting to trade a bracelet. The bracelet was white with a hint of red, exquisitely smooth to the touch; at first glance, it was a premium item. Isaac, with his professional eye, carefully examined the bracelet. His heart was filled with joy because he knew this bracelet could be a tremendous source of wealth. However, shortly after, strange things began to happen.
Chilly gusts of wind blew, crows flocked together, and the surrounding atmosphere became eerie and terrifying. This ominous feeling made Isaac's body shiver, and he began to suspect it might be related to the bracelet. As he hesitated, a monk named Connor suddenly appeared and advised Isaac not to touch the bracelet. He told Isaac that the bracelet was an omen of ill fortune and hid unpredictable dangers.
A hint of unease and curiosity shone in Isaac's eyes. Connor continued to narrate that the bracelet once belonged to an old woman named Daphne, and her background was incredibly complicated.
Isaac felt himself getting drawn in, his desire for the bracelet intensifying. However, he also began to ponder the true intentions of Fanny, the woman who brought the bracelet. Was she aware of the secrets behind it? A moment of reflection plunged Isaac into a state of dilemma and confusion.
