Chapter 35

The Power of Revenge

Yuliana's heart pounded in her chest as she stood before Jean, her hands trembling with a mixture of fear and anger. The evidence she had gathered against him lay on the table, a damning testimony to his guilt. She couldn't believe that the man she once called father figure could be capable of such heinous acts.

"Jean," Yuliana's voice quivered, "I thought of you as family. How could you have done this to my father?"

Jean's eyes narrowed, a smirk playing on his lips. "Your father was a fool, Yuliana. He got in my way, and I had to remove him. It was all for the greater good."

Yuliana felt a surge of rage welling up inside her. How could Jean justify his actions so callously? "The greater good? What kind of sick twisted logic is that?"

Jean shrugged, his nonchalant demeanor infuriating Yuliana even more. "Sometimes sacrifices must be made for the greater good. Your father's death was necessary to protect our interests."

Yuliana's hands tightened into fists as she struggled to control her emotions. She refused to let Jean see how deeply his words affected her. "I won't let you get away with this. I will make sure you pay for what you've done."

Jean laughed mockingly. "And how do you plan on doing that, Yuliana? You're just a girl playing dress-up, seeking revenge for a crime you know nothing about."

Yuliana's eyes flashed with determination. She had come too far to let Jean belittle her efforts. "I may not know everything, but I know enough to expose you. I have evidence, witnesses, and I won't stop until justice is served."

Jean's smirk faded slightly, replaced by a flicker of uncertainty. Yuliana's resolve seemed to unnerve him. "You may think you're onto something, Yuliana, but you underestimate the power of those who protect me. You're playing a dangerous game."

Yuliana stood tall, her voice steady and resolute. "I'm well aware of the risks, Jean. But I won't back down. Your reign of terror ends here."

Suddenly, a door creaked open, interrupting the tense standoff. It was Jasper, his eyes filled with concern and determination. He had followed Yuliana, unable to bear the thought of her facing Jean alone.

"Yuliana, we need to go," Jasper urged, his voice filled with urgency. "He's dangerous, and we don't know who else might be involved."

Yuliana turned to Jasper, her gaze softening. She realized that she couldn't let her anger consume her. She needed to think clearly and plan her next move. Revenge wouldn't heal her wounds; it would only perpetuate the cycle of pain and suffering.

Taking a deep breath, Yuliana nodded. "You're right, Jasper. We can't let Jean's actions dictate our path. We need to find a way to expose him and bring him to justice, but not at the cost of our own humanity."

Jasper smiled, relief evident in his eyes. He reached out and took Yuliana's hand, offering her strength and support. "Together, we'll find the truth and put an end to this darkness. We'll make sure that justice is served, but we won't let it consume us."

Yuliana squeezed Jasper's hand, feeling a renewed sense of hope. She knew that their journey was far from over, but with Jasper by her side, she believed they could overcome any obstacle. They would uncover the truth, not just for Yuliana's father, but for all those who had suffered at Jean's hands.

As they walked away from Jean, leaving him to ponder his fate, Yuliana couldn't help but feel a sense of liberation. Revenge may have once consumed her, but now, she understood the power of forgiveness and the strength it took to break free from the cycle of pain. Together, she and Jasper would forge a new path, one of justice, healing, and love.
