Chapter: 130
Tina saw Frank again at a class reunion seven years later. The boy who had once been rejected by her had now become a powerful figure in the business world, known for his decisive and intimidating demeanor. Recalling their high school graduation, Frank had cornered her in a secluded part of the school, his arms bracing the walls on either side of her in a domineering trap. He looked at her intently, asking cautiously, "We've been desk mates for three years, haven't you ever thought about giving us a try?"
With Tina not responding, he laughed at himself, raised his hand to touch her head, "Scared? I was just joking." Years later, Tina wanted to avoid the awkwardness and walk away. But Frank stopped her, under the street light which cast an unclear glow. His sharp features were obscured in the hazy light, his posture relaxed with hands in pockets, his tone trailing off with a teasing edge, "Why are you avoiding me? You think I still have feelings for you like before?"
Tina made up her mind: This time, I will win you over!
Months later, in front of the civil affairs office, Tina gently touched the corner of Frank's eye, laughing and crying at the same time, "Why are you crying at your own wedding?" The man, like a big dog, buried his face in her neck and gently rubbed, stubbornly denying, "I'm not crying." He pulled her tightly into his arms, his voice hoarse. "Will you call me 'husband'?"
